Watching yoga being practised at the last control under the trees with the sun shining through the falling leaves would have made a smashing photo. I also heard there was dog training and tai chi going on around Stanmer House, fortunately I hadn’t put controls in that area!
It was interesting to hear tales of differing route choices. Looking at the times I do hope that the Orange course was not too challenging. I think the smashing weather made for perseverance and most of you finished. I hoped to encourage competitors to go “off path” on several legs and it would be really interesting to see exactly where you went – do put your route on Route Gadget.
My thanks to a wonderful group of helpers, and many apologies if I've missed anyone: Mike Baron for signage, car parking and help above and beyond the call of duty by running two controls up the steep hill for the Blue course and then returning as I’d given him the incorrect stakes; Miles Cary aided by Judith Carder on the computer; Mike Gammon for organising the map printing; Claire Teesdale and Alan Williamson for map sales; Simon and Lucy Thraves, Alan Williamson, Brian Rogers and Michael Merritt for control collecting; Ali Weller and John Faller for providing a welcome to newcomers.
